RENEGADE ANDERMEN OF TIME
This book, Renegade Andermen of Time, is about time and the use of time as a tool for planning science and war. The theme: greed can be good if it is kept under control, but uncontrolled greed always leads to undesirable results; and the underlying question: can anything be completely controlled? The plot develops around Karl Scharff, a computer specialist of the 24th century. Karl is chosen to direct Project Othertime, a project started by a strange ruling class of outerworlders, to improve science by altering history. Ultimately Karl must repair the damage done to history by the unforseen results of the project. I use spacetime overlap to tie the subplots together. The narrator takes the omniscient viewpoint, aided by use of a historic spacetime recording device. The reader will be drawn into a thought-provoking experience. I have a unique approach based on mathematics and computing techniques.
I periodically review science fiction
writings of most formats to determine the general attitude and direction of
science fiction materials. The field of science fiction is very broad and
quite impossible to completely review. However, sadly, most "sci-fi"
writing nowadays is not technically science fiction, but leans
toward fantasy writing of a highly speculative nature. Renegade Andermen is
NOT fantasy, but is technically and scientifically reported as accurately as
language permits--any text seeming to be fantasy, relates to fact which may
be found someplace
else in the writing.
This material is being used as an introduction to "Into the Second Sun: the Black Quark." Renegade Andermen of Time is written now—it was started over 15 years ago; following four major rewrites, the length is approximately 108,000 words. I rewrote Renegade Andermen of Time as a screenplay--following the latest rewrite, the screen version is now defunct.
Over the years, several of these versions of the book and screenplay have been submitted to the public, but ALL are now defunct--any use of this working material is therefore a violation of copyright law including book and screen version.
Please note: I will not pay any sort of fee for the reading or evaluation of my manuscript. If my outline appeals to you, I can email you a sample of my writing, providing you can guarantee that you are a verified, reputable literary representative.
Thank you, R. Vic Falkner [aka Karl Scharff]
Renegade Andermen of Time -- Author's Note
THIS TALE OF TIME IS TRUE. I'M KARL SCHARFF from the 24th century and I'm writing this in 2007. Our scientists picked 2007 because you have the technology for time-travel. You haven't found out how to use it yet but you did and you ought to be aware of what may happen when you misuse it—which you did already. We're busy in the 24th and don't need more trouble--we've fought a war with androids because of mistakes in time. Your history may change even more than it has already--you've already had a historical memory loss that only a device like our Time Comparator [TC] could make you aware of the time related changes with its time/historical backup data. To get here, I used a time comparator--I too was part of a historical memory loss and have had to piece a lot of this information together from TC data. I'll try to tell the story as it is happening, or will happen, or did happen, or...oh...whatever. Depends on your perspective.

Working Chapter Outline
I. 2306 A.D.: THE BEGINNING.
1. THE COMPUTER IS GONE! Max, a supercomputing-cyborg, mysteriously disappears from Northcontinental University's School of Neurobiology.
2. A TAXONOMY PROBLEM. A biomedical classification program is debugged by Karl (Dr. Scharff, a computer sales and service representative) and his former major professor and colleague, Dr. Helen Hadeen. They find that the program is probably responsible for Max's disappearance.
3. THE SOLUTION. Electromathnetically-induced quark separation, superstring theory and the classification program itself account for Max's disappearance into a parallel spacetime through a quantum cosmological corridor.
4. MAX IS HOME AGAIN. Dr. Hadeen, assisted by Dr. Il-ee-too (a member of the Ignomonei, a strange ruling class of outerworlders) runs the classification program on another supercomputing-cyborg named Moritz. Karl brings Max back to Northcontinental University and now has a new capability of both observing different spacetimes and translating himself into different spacetimes through quantum cosmological corridors.
II. 2306 - 2308 A.D.: THE DEBATE AND THE PROJECT. [The remaining chapters are summarized]
1. THE PROJECT HYPOTHESIS AND TEST.
2. AN EXPERIMENTAL CONTROL.
3. PROTECTION FROM PARADOX.
III. 2309 A.D.: EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS.
1. THIS IS SUCCESS?
2. RESTLESS ANDROIDS.
3. HADERIKE'S CAVE.
4. KARL MEETS WE-SH-NUU...AGAIN.
5. TO THE ABYSS AND BACK.
6. AN ADVENTURE IN SPACETIME BEGINS.
IV. 2310 - 2314 A.D.: THE ANDROID REBELLION.
1. ANDROID EQUALITY.
2. ANDERMAN SUPERIORITY.
V. 2315 - 2319 A.D.: THE ANDERMAN WAR.
1. A WELL-FOUGHT FIGHT.
2. A TREACHEROUS TRUCE.
3. ILLUSION AND DISASTER.
VI. 2319 - 2306 A.D.: PRIMARY TIMELINE LOST?
1. KARL'S DISCOVERY.
2. HUMANS UNDERGROUND.
3. DO IT TO IT AGAIN!
VII. HISTORY RECONSTRUCTED?
1. HYPOTHESIS AND TEST - AGAIN. In a quasi-repeat of history, anderman scientists decide to improve
scientific knowledge by altering prior history. Actually they already have done it but continue to be
influenced by the primary timeline to trace out the historic template.
2. A DIFFERENT EXPERIMENTAL CONTROL.
3. FINAL PROTECTION FROM PARADOX? ...and probably not the end...again, the beginning? Like I said before, depends on your perspective...
