In 1984, Kevin went to Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, to earn a degree in missions after sensing God calling him to foreign service the year before. Cindy was attending a missions service in 1986 when she knew God was leading her to become a missionary. Since marrying in 1991, Kevin and Cindy have always known that God's plan for their family was to serve Him overseas.

In 1995, Kevin and Cindy went to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to oversee the construction of the Randy Dorsey Memorial Bible School. In 1998, they and their then 19-month-old son, Christopher, went to Bogota, Colombia, to build the Central Bible Institute. Both of these projects were missions projects in prior missions conventions of First Assembly of God, Des Moines, Iowa.

“NEXT QUARTER’S CLASSES WILL MEET HERE!” That was the announcement given at the March sectional pastors’ meeting held in the new auditorium in the basement of the recently purchased house!
We are excited to pass on this good news to you! Through the financial contributions and the hard work of three MAPS construction teams (First Assembly, Buffalo, Missouri, November 2007; First Assembly, Ocala, Florida, February 2008; and First Assembly, Des Moines, Iowa/Faith Assembly, West Plains, Missouri, February 2008), the basement has been converted from a pile of dirt, broken concrete, and trash, to an 80-seat auditorium and three classrooms!

Before & After: A peek at the basement the day we bought the house and after the help of three MAPS teams!

There is great excitement among the pastors, the teachers, and the students as they see the transformation that is taking place on the house. Student enrollment continues to increase each quarter, and we now have more than 80 students!
Though the basement work isn’t quite finished, we are preparing to hold classes in this new facility beginning April 21! Praise the Lord!
We still have some work to do on the house, and we could use your help! Some of the specific areas that we still need to complete are:
Hang suspended ceiling in the basement
Lay floor tile in the basement
Build new staircase from the basement to the second floor
Put on new roof
Remodel three bathrooms and build four public bathrooms (basement; first floor)
WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP US? Whether you are a team of two, ten, or twenty, we can provide the perfect place for the most fulfilling vacation you’ve ever taken! Please contact us for more information (see contact info at bottom left-hand corner).
Seven of our churches in the city were also blessed by the medical ministry of First Assembly, Ocala, Florida, as they ministered to the physical and spiritual needs of over 1,500 individuals in just four days!

Thank you, First Assembly, Ocala, Florida!

Thank you, First Assembly, Des Moines, Iowa, and
Faith Assembly, West Plains, Missouri!

Prayer Requests
Please pray about your participation in the remodeling and construction of the Medellin Bible Seminary projects.
Please pray for God’s abundant financial provision as we continue on in this great construction project.

Christopher’s Corner
I want to thank some churches that helped make Christmas really special for us this year. It is always hard to be away from family and friends at Christmas time and other holidays, but churches like Harlan, IA, and State College, PA, always make it special by sending boxes filled with Christmas gifts! Also, the MAPS teams from Ocala, FL, Des Moines, IA, and West Plains, MO, blessed me with special gifts from the US, and this always helps me be not quite so homesick! So, THANK YOU!!!!!
